I've been through hell and back. Don't dare to judge me because of my blood. You are no better than me.

“I think it’s fair….” Jane said very loudly, and produced a bottle of Vodka from a stash spot in the desk. This was very generous of her and it did not matter too much that it was no longer a secret. It’s a brand new bottle and the hacker opened it with a casual kind of ease.
“That everyone gets a shot before this goes down.” Or maybe a few shots. Just enough to get buzzed. Okay fine, it would really only effect a handful of them, but the sentiment remained. Right? It made it feel like a last call, a toast to what they had going here….just in case….just in case this did not pan out the way that Jane had worked out in hours and hours of hypothetical calculations. The fact that it remained an unknown, despite all the work was bothering her so much more then anything the hacker had done in the past..decade. She glanced over at their speedster, who despite all comments, was still very intently eating pizza. “Grab some cups?”
Kitty ran her fingers as a comb through her curls and finished braiding her hair into a tight braid. She’d like to think that they are “prepared.” The thought is terrifying.
Tentatively she followed their hacker, not really sure if she truly wanted a shot of whatever it was that Jane was offering. It was bound to be Tequila or something just as hard on the stomach. And liver. Look, her Anxiety and Paranoia are already in a heightened over drive. It’s a small miracle that she hasn’t thrown up yet, but as Jane produced the new bottle of Vodka, Kitty wrinkled her nose. Maybe she might have the time to throw up.
“Is that supposed to be able to go down smooth?” Kitty asked, with another unimpressed face with a gesture to the bottle as Jane opened it. Vodka does not go down smooth in her experience.
In a way, eating was his way of dealing with all this chaos. From all the shit that they had been through, this probably had to make the least amount of sense to him. Suppose that really wasn’t saying a lot about him as he barely made sense of anything at all the group ever spoke about. Kitty did a great job in putting it in layman’s terms for him.
He stuffed a pizza in his mouth and handed Jane a few cups. All minus his own as he saw the look Ian was giving him, “I know, nothing to impair my judgement before the shebang.”
“Everyone knows that this is bloody ridiculous and someone is bound to be killed right?” Was that too forward for her? It was the truth though, wasn’t it? Mina just hoped her brother came back in one piece. She had no desire to go to this unknown world and save a woman she didn’t even know. Who knew what her powers could do elsewhere?

She didn’t feel all that comfortable trusting them so easily. She trusted her mother for her entire life and she found out that she was lying to her the entire time. That was her own flesh and blood. Charles was the first person in her life that was very honest. Quietly, Mina dropped her gaze from Kitty. She wanted to like everyone, it was just very difficult. It seemed like Kitty had gotten that out of some romantic book that she had been last reading or seen on television. If only her thoughts were on the same train as Kitty’s and her sisters.
“Aren’t you afraid that I will end up on the other team?” Gunther was her half brother, as Charlie forced himself to say it to confirm her suspicions. Rae was - well she was Rae and there was no definite answer if Mina would really get the chance to know her. Gunther? Well if he found out there was another ‘Preston,’ then he would certainly take it to his advantage.
“He’s is still trying to recruit Charles.” And every chance, Charlie gave him a definitive NO. Mina had no real say in anything. She sighed though, not sure if she believed that Ainsley was the only person in the world that would be able to stop the metal man. Just how powerful is she? Mina herself didn’t have the slightest idea of how to maintain her own powers and if they were worth anything to this team. She would have been fine if she didn’t have powers to begin with.
“But sometimes you never find that one person at all.” Not everyone was lucky to find that someone to enlighten the spark. Kitty might be a romantic with her books, but Mina was an idealistic. Mina hadn’t found that. She didn’t find the life in her life yet the way everyone else had here. It was sad, but it was the truth and Kitty must have known it from the way Mina reacted to certain things.
Mina was being the pestimitc one of the two, just as she was raised to be by her so called mother. Having a better future for mutants meant that there was going to be some sort of commotion within the two races. She wanted to believe good could come of both but she had yet to see it with her own eyes. “It’s hard to imagine when you don’t have that opportunity in your own life.” The chance to live freely as Kitty did in her own. Maybe that was why it was so easy for Kitty to believe.
“What if wherever she is, she is doing that? In this world that she is in now. What if they need her more than you need her?” The thought only occured to Mina because of Charlie. Mina didn’t want anything to do with any of this, truth be told. But Charlie needed her here. He needed her to be the family that he was missing. She knew her mother was yearning for her as well but she choose the place where she knew she would be best beneficial.
“That’s romantic.” Mina said it without any sense of sarcasm or hatred. Yes, it was romantic that Ainsley was going to be engaged to be married and do whatever it was she wanted with her life. Yet she couldn’t come to understand how she was going to do all. “But she’s just one person.”
Maybe Mina hadn’t met enough people to believe the other. Could someone be so optimistic and realistic at the same time? Certainly her brother was, as he seemed to see the good for the most part. Yet she also knew that he had seen the darkness and that hinder his decisions at times. From what she heard of the others saying about Charlie, he had changed since they knew him a few years ago.
“She wanted to make a better future…for who? For mutants?” There were a lot of people who talked nonsense. None of them actually did anything about it. It just made things worse for all of them.
“And you chose to ignore it?” If someone didn’t want to be somewhere, it was best to leave them out of it. Truth was, Mina wasn’t even sure if she wanted to be here. She was here because her brother was, and there was a longing for him that she knew she missed her entire life. The understand of how he was so different than she and yet how they were very much alike at the same time. Charlie was just better with his emotions than she was.
“Dreams are not always ideal.” Rarely were they ever. You did what you had to to survive, or so that was what her mother had taught her. She did what she thought she had to to survive. Mina could say that it was a complete failure. “You tend to get blinded by the mist from the clouds.” Was this woman, her sister, that much of a dreamer? She could have sworn that Kitty was more so than anyone here.
“Has the thought ever occurred to you or anyone here that she might not want to return?”
Was the thought too bold to say aloud? Certainly the shorter of the two would take offense to it, to her relationship with her sister.
Everyone, including her twin brother, seemed to want to jump into dangerous waters to save this woman. There had to be something special about her. She had figured that her youngest sister might be able to shed some light as to what the woman meant to the team. She pressed her lips together as she started. The way she lingered on her sisters name, Mina was uncertain if it was too soon, even if they knew where to find her. She was alive, was she not? Just lost in some world.
“In the world we are living in, it’s hard to believe that someone can have so much hope and faith to lead on a revolution. That is what you are here, is it not?” Mina herself never had anyone to idolize. Hell, the only contact she really had with anyone was with her mother and that woman lied about everything. Certainly there was not a single truth that came out of her lips since the day she was born. “She supported you in everything, regardless of your outcome, didn’t she?” Like how a true mother would be like if she had known.
She hadn’t really approved Kitty - ever. It was only when they were in groups that she said anything to her. Most of the time it was just directed at the group. Yet months had passed by since they were in the same company and even though she did not agree with Kitty’s thought process at times, especially when it came to her brother, she understood why Serah gave her a chance. There was just something about her. Plus Charlie was adamant on her going easy on his girlfriend. “Do you mind telling me what your sister is like?”
